The Baltimore Ravens joined the National Football League in 1996. The Baltimore Ravens play at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore Maryland. The Ravens are owned by Steve Bisciotti. The 2nd coach of the Baltimore Ravens in team history is Brian Billick who has coached the team since 1999.

The Baltimore Ravens are an expansion team that entered the league when the owner of the Baltimore Colts in the mid 1980s moved the Colts to Indianapolis and Baltimore was without a team for many years. At the same time, Cleveland owner Art Modell was having financial problems and so he moved his Browns team to Baltimore but legal negotiations would keep all Cleveland colors, logos etc., in Cleveland so Baltimore created the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens have won one Superbowl which was Superbowl 35 in 2000. The Baltimore Ravens defeated the New York Giants 34-7 to capture their 1st World Championship which was played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Defensive Linebacker Ray Lewis was named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player. A Super Bowl record was set when 3 touchdowns were scored in 36 seconds.

The Ravens would make it back to the playoffs in 2001 and 2003.

The 2006 Baltimore Ravens season began with the team trying to improve on their 6-10 record of 2005. The Ravens started 4-0 with key victories over playoff-bound teams such as San Diego and New Orleans. The Ravens then lost 2 straight games mid-season on offensive troubles, prompting coach Brian Billick to fire their offensive coordinator Jim Fassel and take over play calling responsibilities. Then the Baltimore Ravens finished the season with a 13-3 record which won their division. Then the Ravens lost to the Indianapolis Colts in the Divisional Round of the playoffs by a score of 15-6.

During the off-season, RB/FB Jamal Lewis signed with Cleveland and FB Ovie Mughelli was lost in Free Agency to the Falcons.

In the 2007 NFL Draft the Baltimore Ravens selected OG Benn Grubbs 6ft, 3in, 314lbs in the first round. Also drafted in the 2007 NFL Draft was WR/Return Specialist Yamon Figurs, OL Marshall Yanda, L Antwaan Barnes, FB LeRon McClain, QB Troy Smith and L Prescott Burgess. The Ravens also signed 16 Free Agents.

During the draft, the Ravens made a trade with Buffalo and aquired RB Willis McGahee for 3 draft picks which covered the 2007 and 2008 draft that went to Buffalo.

In 2007, the Baltimore Ravens will try and win the AFC North again and may be a contender for the Super Bowl. QB Steve McNair will try and lead a 2nd team in his career back to the Super Bowl. Steve lost a Super Bowl against the Rams in 1999 and with his career entering the twilight years, the window is closing on the chance to win a Super Bowl.
